Common Courtesy Filing Your Nails Wrong: Your nail either breaks or a large "hangnail" is terribly annoying. You immediately open your hand bag and take out a long nail file or emery board. Not caring that you may disturb or annoy others that are very nearby or even talking to you when you start filing away like mad on the troubled nail. You notice that some people sort of give you a mild dirty look or at least an annoying glance. You still are determined to file and conquer that nail problem in public. Right: You either break a nail or you have a "hangnail" that is bothering you. Knowing it is impolite and just plain improper to file your nails in public. You move out of sight (behind a tree or around a corner) where you cannot be seen and discretely file the nail that is either broken or causing a problem. The majority of human beings hate the sound.
